Dr. Ejaz Husain graduated magna cum laude from the prestigious Ivy League institution Brown University in 1986. In 1990, he earned his doctorate in medicine with honors from the Brown University School of Medicine. Dr. Husain completed his ophthalmology residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where he also completed a two-year surgical fellowship program in corneal, cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Husain was then invited to stay on as faculty at the Baylor College of Medicine where he taught anterior segment and refractive surgery.
Dr. Husain has performed thousands of successful laser vision correction, cataract, and micro-invasive glaucoma surgeries. He has authored over twenty research articles and educational chapters in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Husain is the recipient of the selective Paul Kayser scholarship awarded by the Pan American Association of Ophthalmology for Refractive Surgery. He is certified to perform Custom LASIK, Custom Advanced Surface Ablation (flap-free laser vision correction), and he is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Husain is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners, as well as a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Academy of Ophthalmology, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Pan American Association of Ophthalmology, and the Des Moines Ophthalmology Society. He has also achieved the highest level of distinction in his field as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been selected as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly as well as numerous other organizations.
